How does the Diaper Bank get its diapers?
We receive our diapers from generous supporters throughout the community who host diaper drives on behalf of the Diaper Bank. We also gladly accept monetary donations to help cover the cost of purchasing diapers.
What happens to the donated diapers?
I need help! Where do I get diapers?
The Diaper Bank for Northeast Florida distributes diapers to a network of qualified nonprofit organizations that serve families in need. We do not distribute diapers directly to individuals or families. Click here to find a partner agency.
Why don't you distribute directly to individuals and families?
By working with organizations that are already well established in the community, we can be sure that the diapers and wipes collected are distributed in the most efficient and timely manner. Distributing diapers in this way ensures they reach those who need them the most.
Aren't there federal programs that cover the costs of diapers?
Unfortunately, federal safety net programs such as WIC and SNAP (known as food stamps) cannot be used to purchase diapers.
My child is potty trained, and I have leftover diapers/Pull Ups. Can I donate them?
Yes! We gladly accept opened and unopened packages of diapers and Pull Ups. For opened packages, please re-seal and label with size and quantity.
Why can't families just use cloth diapers?
Making cloth diapers available supports our mission to ensure all babies have an adequate supply of diapers. However, cloth diapers are sometimes not an option for families. Most childcare centers require parents to leave disposable diapers with their child. Many of the families we assist have limited access to washing machines or funds for a public laundromat. In addition, many public laundromats do not permit the washing of soiled diapers in their machines. Our goal is to ensure everyone who needs a diaper has access to an adequate supply to keep their baby clean, dry and healthy.
